Music can thus be defined as an art form that arranges sounds in a fashion that follows certain natural principles and provides that special inner feeling of happiness and contentment. The purpose of this ring is to link all web sites devoted to Carnatic - South Indian Classical Music. Carnatic music emphasizes the voice and singing, which may be accompanied by the instruments of the region, including tambura, violin, mridangam, and veena. The raga style is commonly used, and improvisation is common. Sites include those devoted to sound recordings, composers and performers, and societies that pursue this music in its purest form.
